Some bad news for local sewing enthusiasts: the Longview JOANN Fabric & Crafts store is among the 21 locations in Washington State slated to shut down.

The closure is part of a larger plan to close 500 stores across the country after JOANN filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month to pursue a restructuring and court-supervised sale to another buyer.

The official closure date for the store, located in the strip mall at 700 Ocean Beach Highway, is unknown. However, a going-out-of-business sale is expected soon and could last for several months.
