A 35-year-old Kelso woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence after a crash yesterday morning on West Side Highway.
According to Washington State Patrol Master Public Information Officer Will Finn, the crash occurred at 9:55 a.m. at milepost 3 of West Side Highway near Nevada Drive. A vehicle was in the turn lane attempting to enter the Carnival Market parking lot when it was struck from behind by a northbound vehicle.
The turning vehicle was pushed into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. The man driving the turning vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No other individuals involved were injured.
The roadway was partially blocked for about half an hour.
The northbound driver who initially hit the turning vehicle was the woman charged. She has not been publicly identified.
