-YOU have the power to prevent Opioid addiction. Free medication lockboxes are available now at Youth and Family Link in Longview for you to pick up. Medication lockboxes help eliminate access to anyone tempted to take prescription drugs that aren't theirs.
-The DAV is looking for volunteers to drive local veterans to their appointments. It's Monday-Friday and times vary based on availability. If you'd like to volunteer to help transport local vets, call the DAV at (503) 721-7804.
-The Cowlitz County Veterans Service Center is looking for volunteers to help at the center. Call (360) 200-4611, or stop by the center at 1005 Fir St Longview to learn more and sign up.
-Earn free school supplies and nurture your child's love for reading. Register your kids between ages zero and kindergarten age for Longview Public Library's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. For details, longviewlibrary.beanstack.org.
-Take a book, leave a book! The Rotary Club of Longview has provided 12 Little Libraries around Longview to promote reading! Find them at the front student entrance AND east entrance of main Lower Columbia College, the front entrance of the Broadway Learning Center, behind the gate of Columbia Heights Elementary, the front entrance of Robert Gray Elementary, the front entrance of Columbia Valley Gardens Elementary, Mint Valley Elementary, the front entrance of St. Helens Elementary, the gym entrance of Kessler Elementary, the front entrance of Olympic Elementary, the front entrance AND the Lower Columbia School Gardens entrance of Northlake Elementary.
