Weekend For Warm Neighbor Has Record-Breaking Year—Classic Hits 100.7

Plenty of locals struggling to pay their electric bills will have help staying warm this winter. Cowlitz PUD says this year’s Weekend for Warm Neighbor event was record-breaking, raising $47,000.

For more than 25 years, the Warm Neighbor Fund has provided assistance to Cowlitz County families who struggle to pay their electric bills but don’t qualify for other aid programs.

This year’s goal was $48,000—meaning the weekend brought in nearly the entire amount. The Weekend for Warm Neighbor event included community efforts like Eat For Heat and a golf tournament, with funds raised through donations, event participation, and support from sponsors.
