The Longview Police Department was recently able to get someone’s stolen phone back, and the case actually got prosecuted, leading to jail time.
The Cowlitz County Prosecutor’s Office says a Superior Court jury found Alisha Kloes Hamilton guilty of 2nd Degree Trafficking Stolen Property and 3rd Degree Possessing Stolen Property last month.
During the trial, the jury heard testimony that the victim had her phone stolen from her home and was later able to track it using the “Find My iPhone” app to Walmart in Longview. Longview Police responded, and it was discovered that the stolen phone had been sold at one of the ecoATM machines inside the store.
Kloes Hamilton was given 20 days in jail for taking the phone and selling it.
