The Longview Severe Weather Shelter has extended its hours due to current conditions. The shelter at the McClelland Arts Center opened yesterday afternoon and will remain open until noon today. The shelter will reopen this evening at 5 p.m. but is scheduled to close tomorrow morning, as temperatures are expected to rise and remain warmer throughout next week. As a reminder, the shelter opens overnight when temperatures drop below 33 degrees for two consecutive nights.
