    Eileen Reinecke: July 24, 1941 – August 19, 2026

    Eileen Reinecke passed away August 19, 2026. She was born Eileen Fay Krumm on July 24, 1941, in Longview, WA to Charles O. Krumm and Dorothy Roberts Krumm.

    After completing elementary and secondary schools in Longview, she graduated from Lower Columbia College then obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oregon specializing in the German language. She traveled to Germany for postgraduate study and traveled extensively throughout Europe during that period. She met future husband Oscar Jim Reinecke, a U.S. Army Sergeant, at a train station in Munich, Germany. She fell in love with Jim’s Texas drawl and, after a brief courtship, they were married in Germany.

    After moving back to the states, they lived briefly in Reno, NV where she was the personal secretary of William Lear, of the Learjet company. Her parents owned Quigley’s Furniture Store in Longview. After her parents died, Eileen and Jim returned to Longview to help her older brother Charles manage the store.

    Eileen also served the City of Longview in the Finance and Engineering Departments. She was active in community organizations including the Humane Society, FISH, and Lions Club. She was a voracious reader and a dedicated patron of the Longview Public Library. 

    Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother. She is survived by many longtime friends including goddaughter Kathryn Fowler and her father Mike Fowler, as well as cousins Virginia Leap, Pepper Sturm, and Philip Sturm.
