LONGVIEW- Margie Jean Ellis-Glenn, 81, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Longview, Washington. Born December 8, 1944, in Corvallis, Oregon, to John Lincoln Ellis and Grace Elberta (Thompson) Ellis.
Margie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose sassy personality and unmistakable sense of humor made her truly one of a kind. Those who knew Margie knew that when she loved, she loved with her whole heart.
She found happiness in many things, including country music, football, baseball, and animals of all kinds. She had an especially tender place in her heart for her beloved dog, Vickie. She also loved the Disney characters Stitch and Angel, whose mischievous and lovable personalities perhaps suited a little bit of her own.
Margie was preceded in death by her father, John Lincoln Ellis; her mother, Grace Elberta (Thompson) Ellis; and her sisters, Judith “Judy” Hanson and Margaret Ellis.
She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Sue Jenkins-Bennett of Lebanon, Oregon, and Danielle Lynne Jenkins and her husband, Tracy, of Ocean Park, Washington; her four grandchildren, Desiree Dummet and her husband, Chris, of Lebanon, Oregon, Jeffrey Bennett of Sweet Home, Oregon, Kristina Davis-Thomas of Wolcott, Connecticut, and Jonathan Davis of Ocean Park, Washington; as well as three beloved great-grandchildren.
To her family, however, Margie was so much more than a collection of names, dates, and places. She was Mom. She was Grandma. She was Great-Grandma. She was one of Andrea and Danielle’s favorite people in the entire world.
Like only a mother can, she could drive her daughters absolutely crazy—but they wouldn’t have traded her for anyone. Beneath the sass, the stubborn moments, the laughter, and all the memories was a woman they loved beyond measure.
Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. Her family will miss her voice, her personality, her humor, and simply knowing she was there. They will carry a lifetime of memories with them and keep her close in their hearts for years to come.
She was deeply loved, and she is already terribly missed.
Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you more than words could ever say.
