The Junior League of Lower Columbia’s Confidently You program is back for the second year in a row, and this year’s theme is “Girl Boss!” On Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Youth and Family Link, middle school-aged girls will gather for dinner, guest speakers, activities, and a movement meant to bring empowerment! Join comedian Brett Hollis for the Joy and Laughter Night of Comedy! At the Father’s House Church in Longview on Friday, social time starts at 6 p.m., and the show is at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit Love in the Name of Christ. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the door.
Saturday:
The Mi Familia Swap Meet starts back up this weekend and runs until October! It’s every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1525 Broadway Street in Longview. Enjoy authentic, amazing food vendors and talented merchandise vendors.
For families with 0-1-year-olds, there is a community baby shower at the Longview Public Library on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come learn about local services, enjoy a lapsit storytime, and play fun games for some great prizes! Every family will leave with a free book bag and board book. No registration is required, and the event is free.
Oregon State Parks will host Spring Whale Watch Week along the Oregon Coast starting this Saturday and running through Sunday, March 30. Trained Oregon State Park volunteers and rangers will be stationed at 14 sites along the Oregon Coast to help visitors spot whales and their calves and answer questions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
The Third Annual Adult Pickling Eating Contest is happening at the Blue Cat Game Café & Event Center at the Three Rivers Mall on Saturday. Come compete at noon to eat the most pickles the fastest. It’s free to enter, and the winner gets 30% off their entire store purchase.
The Spring Art Show Opening Reception is Saturday at noon at the Cowlitz County Historical Museum. The show is presented by the Columbian Artists Association; be among the first to explore an incredible collection of original artwork from local artists.
