August 25, 2025Four people were arrested Friday following a long pursuit from Centralia to the Headquarters exit.
According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, officers in Centralia first responded to a call for a hit and run. The suspect vehicle, a black Ford Fusion, fled the scene before officers arrived. The vehicle was later located at the Chehalis Walmart parking lot and fled onto I-5 South. They were spotted again in Toledo, which led to a long pursuit south.
The vehicle traveled at high speeds on I-5, swerving in and out of traffic. The chase ended after they took the Headquarters exit (46) when they attempted to go through the grass back onto the freeway and got stuck.
The Sheriff’s Office said in their release, “The driver and three passengers attempted to flee on foot but did not stand a chance as they were quickly surrounded by law enforcement and taken into custody. K9 Kimbo alerted on the vehicle, and a search warrant led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.”
The driver, 31-year-old Joleen Tenorio of Battle Ground, was booked on charges of attempting to elude, driving with a suspended license, and multiple warrants for her arrest. Her passengers—25-year-old Juan Mallon of Vancouver, 30-year-old Danniel Evangelista, and 31-year-old George Mendiola, both of Silver Lake—were all charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer.
