Longview PD Releases Details on February Chase—Classic Hits 100.7 KLOG News

As part of their extended coverage on Instagram, the Longview Police Department posted details yesterday with an update on a high-speed chase that occurred back in February.

They say around 4:05 a.m. on February 12, a Kelso Police Department unit began a vehicle pursuit that eventually entered Longview. The pursuit was initially discontinued, but due to multiple instances of the driver operating recklessly and causing near collisions at high speed, the chase resumed just after 4:20 a.m.

The vehicle reached speeds over 120 miles per hour on westbound Ocean Beach Highway. It eventually crashed off the roadway near Baker’s Corner, and the driver attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody minutes later.

The suspect was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on charges including attempting to elude, reckless driving, obstructing law enforcement, and more.
