Three people were injured after a two-vehicle DUI crash on southbound Interstate 5 last evening.
The Washington State Patrol says that around 6:55 p.m., 41-year-old Joshua Dieringer of Gresham was driving a 1997 Jaguar XK8 southbound at milepost 32, near the Camp Kalama RV Park. Dieringer struck the rear of a 2018 Ford Edge driven by 70-year-old Daryl Hodges of Vancouver, causing the Edge to roll and come to rest in the median. The Jaguar stopped, blocking the northbound ramp.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, both drivers were found to be injured and taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center. A 40-year-old Gresham man riding with Dieringer was also injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Troopers suspect Dieringer was under the influence. He has been charged with DUI. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, but it is unknown whether Dieringer’s passenger was.
