Dennis Mark Hill: August 10, 1946 – March 9, 2025

ST. HELENS- Dennis Mark Hill passed away March 9, 2025, at age 78 with family by his side after a long battle with Cancer. He was born in Binghamton, NY in August 10, 1946 to Aaron and Edith (Card) Hill. The family moved to Minnesota when he was 9 he grew up and attended school there and graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN.
He Married Kathy Ingalls May 1,1965 they moved to Oregon in 1969 and later divorced in 1984. He married his second wife Sylvia McBride on April 4, 1991. He worked at Esco for 34 years in the Stainless-steel foundry department. He retired early due to health issues. He was also a long-time member of the Moose Lodge #591 ST. Helens, Or.
He loved dirt car racing. While in Minnesota he pitted for his dad. His Brother-in-law got him involved in the local track River City Speedway. He pitted for his Son for many years, his daughter later joined in racing. He loved watching and pitting for them.
He loved the outdoors in his younger years, from fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends.
He was part of Sunset Alert and Rescue. He would work the Highway from the rest area on Hwy 26 for 4 years. He attended CB meetings and camping events. His CB handle was Dollar and a Dime.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia Hill, Son Mark Hill, Daughter Ann Carter, Stepson Allen McBride, Stepdaughter Amanda McBride, Sister Linda Holloway of Minnesota, Brother Kenny Hill of Minnesota, Grandson Tyler Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Edith Hill of Minnesota, Sister Beverly Ambro of Minnesota, Sister Shirly (Berg) Walker of Gresham.
A celebration will take place this summer.
