A two-vehicle crash north of Castle Rock sent one person to the hospital yesterday morning.
The Washington State Patrol says it happened around 11:20 a.m. near milepost 54 on northbound I-5 by the Toutle River Rest Area. Fifty-year-old Josefina Gonzalez-Knoerr of Rochester was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center.
Troopers say 78-year-old Charles Harrington of Brookings, Oregon, was driving a Toyota Tundra northbound when he swerved right, overcorrected to the left, and struck Gonzalez-Knoerr’s Honda CR-V. Both vehicles crashed.
Harrington and his passenger were uninjured. He was cited for improper lane use. WSP says drugs and alcohol were not factors and everyone involved was wearing seatbelts.
