Tonight, the Longview City Council will hold a public hearing about the potential removal of fluoride from the city’s water supply.
This will be another opportunity for constituents to voice their opinions on whether or not they support the removal of fluoride. Following the public hearing, the council will vote on whether to direct staff to draft an ordinance to remove fluoride. If they decide to move forward with fluoride removal, they will need to wait a required 90-day period before taking action, which would occur at the June 12th council meeting.
A workshop on the issue, featuring both pro and con experts on fluoride removal, was held last month. A recording of that meeting can be found on KLTV.com.
Tonight’s meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Longview City Council Chambers.
