Ronald David Callahan: August 19, 1933 – April 11, 2025

SCAPPOOSE- Ronald David Ronald David Callahan, 91, peacefully passed away Friday April 11, 2025 at Rose Linn Care Center, West Linn Or.

Ron was born on August 19, 1933 in West Linn, to Simon & Ruby Callahan. He had two siblings, a twin brother Don and an older brother Simon Jr.

After Graduating from Molalla High School, he and his twin brother Don enlisted in the US Army. They served in Germany with the Big Red One Division from 1954 to 1956. After the army he met Jean and the two of them were married on November 14, 1958. From there he went to college and graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ron spent the majority of his career working for Boise Cascade paper mill in St Helens, Or, where he was a longtime resident.

Ron brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He loved his 9 grandchildren and his 12 great grandchildren. Besides the love for his family, He was passionate about the game of golf and, The Oregon State Beavers. “GO BEAVS!”

Ron was preceded in death by his brothers Don and Simon Jr, his wife Jean Rosalie, and his daughter Kimberly McMullen.

Ron is survived by his sons, Douglas Callahan and his wife Julie, Bradly Callahan and his wife Jennifer, his daughter Michelle Meyer and her husband Rory, grandchildren Kathryn Rhoades, Geoffrey McMullen, Carrie Erlandson, Erin Callahan Anderson, Ryan Callahan, Megan Hall, Kevin Callahan, and Maxwell & Magdalena Meyer.

A private family graveside service will be held Monday.
