A naturally caused fire was quickly knocked down between Rainier and St. Helens last evening thanks to the quick work of Columbia River Fire & Rescue.

Columbia River Fire & Rescue says that lightning sparked a wildfire off Harris Road in Deer Island. The department, along with the Oregon Department of Forestry, responded quickly and worked together to get it contained. They were successful in their efforts, and the fire has since been put out.
