KELSO- Kevin John Green, a beloved brother, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on March 22nd , 2025. He was surrounded by his children, siblings and their spouses. Kevin was born March 13th , 1961, in Portland, Oregon to Douglas and JoAnn (Enloe) Green. He was the fourth child of five. On April 3rd , 1987, he married the love of his life Michelle Rae Richter, making this day a double celebration, it was also his mother’s birthday. Kevin and Michelle were married 31 years.
Kevin enjoyed many passions in life. Camping, boating and fishing with his wife and kids. He coached his son Josh’s baseball team, and as a family, they attended many Mariner games as he was an avid fan. Kevin enjoyed going to concerts with his wife Michelle. He loved the little get always she would plan, beach and wine tasting trips were very special to him. He loved to decorate the outside of their home at Christmas time with his daughter Kayla. He would boast about his twenty thousand lights. He tried to give Clark Griswold a run for his money.
Going to church and being involved with his beautiful wife was very special and a very important part of his life. He loved the desserts after Church too. Kevin was a self-taught guitarist, and had his own crazy unique style, and was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix. Kevin really enjoyed family gatherings and BBQ’s. Kevin had a special individual relationship with his brothers and sister. He would talk about music with his older brother Steve. He would share special moments with his sister Lori discussing the Lord Jesus Christ, and life without Michelle, while sitting and enjoying a great cup of coffee. He enjoyed playing guitar with his brother Keith while talking about music, God, kids, fishing, and life. Sitting around the firepit with Shawn was a treat, as they would discuss rock-n-roll bands, different guitarists and life in general, while having a beverage and smokes.
Kevin was proceeded in death by his wife Michelle Rae (Richter) Green, Douglas and JoAnn Green, his eldest brother Stephen Green and his grandparents. He is survived by their son Josh Green and daughter Kayla Rutherford (Ryan) and his beloved granddaughter Margrett. His siblings Lori Dixon (Jack), Keith Green (Jennifer), Shawn Green (Leah), and sister-in-law Dee Dee Green. Along with cousins, nieces, nephews and one Aunt. A great joy was the birth of his first granddaughter Margret (Maggie). He loved to look at her, play with her, talk with her and especially to hold her. She was the apple to his eye.
In Kevins later years he really enjoyed playing pool. The family gave him a hard time with his always color changing go-tee, ranging from orange, green, blue, red, and even pink. Kevin had a special love for his brother-in-law Jack who would help him relentlessly with rides to and from wherever he needed to go. The night Kevin passed, he rededicated his life to the Lord Christ Jesus and repented of his sins. He was heard singing to the Lord “I surrender to you; I surrender to you”. On one of Kevins guitar cases was one of Kevin’s favorite Bible verses: “He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name” Psalm 111:9
A celebration in honor of Kevin will take place at a later date in a fashion that he would love and enjoy.
