A bicyclist was injured after being hit on West Side Highway last evening.
The Washington State Patrol’s Office says troopers responded around 7:53 p.m. yesterday after reports of a bicyclist down.
Emergency responders went to Lexington, near the Lexington Bridge, and found 19-year-old Jared Deal of Kelso injured. He was not wearing a helmet. Deal was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center.
Troopers say 64-year-old Sarah Welsh was driving southbound on West Side Highway in a 2002 Honda Accord near Sparks Drive as Deal was traveling northbound on Sparks Drive. Welsh attempted to turn right and struck Deal.
Troopers do not suspect Welsh was under the influence. However, she has been cited for driving with a suspended/revoked license.
