Barnes Drive Washout Update—Classic Hits 100.7 KLOG News
January 26, 2026Our local congresswoman made a statement yesterday following yet another ICE shooting in Minnesota.
In her post, 3rd District Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez called the situation “un-American,” and she called for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to step down. She stated, “It’s unacceptable to have another needless death in Minnesota, and it’s unacceptable to have elected officials, candidates, and administration officials continue to throw gas on this fire, or tacitly encourage assaults on law enforcement and anyone else.”
This comes after Representative Gluesenkamp Perez has faced heavy criticism from constituents for her position on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Just days before the Saturday shooting, she was one of just seven Democrats to vote to continue funding the Department of Homeland Security. She also faced backlash, including a protest in front of her Kelso office, for waiting over a week to make any sort of public statement on the shooting of Renee Nicole Good earlier this month.
